ABOUT

Kathleen is the newest associate at Steamboat Lawyers Group. She has a background in corporate and commercial law and has gained experience working with small businesses in a variety of industries. Kathleen is looking forward to becoming an active member of the Steamboat community and enjoying mountain living.

EDUCATION

Kathleen is originally from Michigan and first pursued a career in baking and pastry arts. She attended Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte North Carolina where she received a Bachelor of Science in Restaurant Management and Baking and Pastry Arts. After three years in the restaurant industry, she discovered that her true passion was in supporting small businesses and small business owners. Kathleen received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law as well as a Certificate in Corporate and Commercial Law in 2021.

EMPLOYMENT

During law school, Kathleen had the opportunity to be a research assistant for Professor Nancy Leong and to extern with R.Z.A. Legal and Greenspoon Marder, LLP. Kathleen was also selected to extern and serve as a student attorney for the Community Innovation and Equity Project, a clinical program ranked #9 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, where she helped small business owners navigate the financial opportunities available pursuant to the CARES Act. Since law school, Kathleen has worked with small businesses in a wide range of industries and gained meaningful insights into business formation, regulatory compliance, tax credit qualification, negotiation, financial planning, and commercial contract drafting.

ACTIVITIES

Kathleen is passionate about participating in her community. In the past, she has routinely volunteered to participate in employer charitable events, including Work Options for Women and the Colfax Marathon. Kathleen is looking forward to volunteering as well as engaging in her favorite outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and snowboarding.
